Goodbyes Do Not Mean Forever

Whether the Girl Scouts involved in the recent National Senior-Cadet Conference held in Baguio City would admit it or not, it is a precise fact that the sadness in each one's farewell had been apparent enough to pull out some tears from our eyes. We did not intend to inject a pint of drama on the last night's scenario, yet, the cheerless truth that nothing really lasts forever did touch our hearts and squeezed the aorta of our emotions.

It is true for the most of us that it isn't that facile to set aside memories from a 5-day conference wherein each one has developed their skills in dealing with camaraderie and urges in making new friends. The hardships behind the grins as well as the expectations to gain success from the effort which was invested wouldn't mark the minds of people who were not physically involved in the activities we did; but since our physiques and our mental instruments witnessed every petty move the conference had showed us, saying goodbye to a temporary wonderland of Girl Scouts would surely render sadness and would eventually ask for tears from our eyes.

We were glad that Ate Kat, one of the members of the planning committee, appreciated the effort we put on making the action plan for the regional conference we are planning to have, it would just, then, be a manifestation that almost in the room esteemed the work we did as well.

We would like to thank the big sisters who proved to us that age is really an illusion: for no matter how old or young we are, they could still cope up with the thoughts which do run back and forth from our mind as well as the behavior typical teenagers would exude. The manners they showed to us that being young isn't a hindrance in making great things possible: if it weren't for their hard work and perseverance, no conference as splendid as that wouldn't be experienced by us. These people challenged us in a positive way, showed us that we should be strong in every path we'd choose to tread and be decisive enough to know what is right from wrong: since a part of their human will is being spent every decision they make.

Every memory we had in the conference is definitely worth reminiscing. It is not just an experience for a lifetime [this would surely be an understatement, then] yet a 120-hour moment with our fellow future positive change leaders which certainly would be treasured forever.

It started good; the things we had in the conference made the end better.
